About Olu
Olu is a young scientist with a creative mind and a gentle demeanor. He is originally from Nigeria, West Africa where he had completed a Bachelors degree in Microbiology from Bowen University in 2006. He had also briefly worked in the field of IVF in Africa as an Embryologist Trainee, and much later as an IVF-PR consultant to a number of prominent IVF clinics – to help improve their clientele. He moved to the USA in 2012 for graduate studies.
Olu currently holds a total of 5 academic degrees in addition to his Bachelors – including an MS in Biological Sciences, an MBA in International Business (2017), a Graduate Certificate in Bioengineering, (2020) Integrative Biology (2021) – all from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). With his years of experience as an academic and research scholar, he is also a Professor at FAU where he is currently an instructor for Health Services Microbiology.
With his passion for clinical microbiology, embryology, andrology and reproductive genetics, Olu is currently conducting novel research studies to help prevent certain genetic disorders like cystic fibrosis and sickle cell disorder in newborns – by genotypically sorting sperm cells using microfluidic chips and other less invasive sorting methods. Olu also currently enjoys being trained by the seasoned duo of Dr. Michael Matilsky, HCLD and Ms. Patricia Roy at Boca Fertility where he also works as part of the IVF laboratory team – helping to complete families.
