Brightening Others’ Path to Parenthood
At Boca Fertility, we believe that egg donation is one of the most profound and generous gifts one can offer. It’s a selfless act that gives hope and possibility to couples and families who dream of having a child.
Our egg donors are not just individuals seeking compensation; they are compassionate women who genuinely wish to make a difference in the lives of others. While we reward and value the time and commitment involved in this process with fair compensation, our primary hope is to collaborate with donors whose main motivation stems from a genuine desire to help.
Do I qualify as an egg donor?
To optimize successful outcomes, we screen our egg donors diligently before accepting them into our egg donor program. Below are just a few of the requirements:
- Age between 20 and 30 with good health
- Body mass index between 20-28. Calculate your BMI.
- Regular menstrual cycles (menses every 28-32 days)
- Healthy lifestyle (no drugs or smoking)
- Reliable, responsible and able to visit Boca Fertility 5-6 times during a 10-14 day period
How does egg donation work?
Step 1: Apply
Contact us to see if you qualify and request an application.
Step 2: Screening
You will meet with our fertility specialists and coaches who will perform a variety of blood tests, genetic tests, psychological exams, and ultrasounds to determine if you will be a successful donor. During this process, you will learn a lot about your own fertility and we will be able to address any concerns you might have about the egg donation process.
Step 3: Paperwork
If you make it to step 3, congratulations! You are going to be an egg donor. During this step, you will complete and sign the required legal paperwork stating that you have no claim of any children resulting from your donated eggs. Your donor profile will be set up and you will await your match!
Once you have been matched with a recipient, our office will contact you to set up an appointment to get started with the donor cycle.
Step 4: The Egg Donor Cycle
Syncing
We’ll start by synchronizing your cycle with your recipient using birth control. This may take 3-4 weeks.
Stimulation
Once your cycles are synced, we will start ovarian stimulation using daily FSH injections to help all of your follicles mature. We will perform frequent blood tests and ultrasounds during this time to ensure your eggs are maturing properly.
Retrieval
Once your eggs are mature, it’s time to retrieve your eggs. This process is quick and pain-free! You will be under light IV anesthesia and the process takes about 20-30 minutes. You will need to arrange someone to take you home to rest after the procedure. Most patients are back to their normal activities the following day.
